Italian Olive Grove

I was inspired for this painting by a photo of an olive grove in southern Italy. I loved the gnarly bark and texture on the ancient trees and how the late afternoon sun played on them. These trees are hundreds of years old and still productive. They give us the wonderful fruit and oil so important to Mediterranean cooking. This painting won 3rd place ribbon at Mt Pleasant, SC Art Festival, March 2019.
